In the US there are over 5 million commercial buildings and industrial facilities with combined annual energy costs of approximately $200 billion, and close to 30 percent of their energy consumption is used inefficiently. That has a potential for $60 billion in savings! Warehouses are also using energy inefficiently. In a typical non-refrigerated warehouse, lighting and heating are the two largest energy uses, accounting for nearly 76 percent of total energy consumption. Refrigerated warehouses are even more energy-intensive due to the large amounts of energy consumed by refrigeration equipment. Energy costs typically account for 15 percent of a warehouse’s operating budget. Delmarva Power offers incentives to help you achieve significant energy savings, while maintaining or even improving productivity.1
The benefits of energy-efficient upgrades are numerous
- Reduced operating costs
- Enhanced building performance
- Extended life expectancy of equipment
The Delmarva Power incentive programs can help reduce the initial cost of upgrading to energy- efficient equipment and systems. You can utilize the expertise of program approved Trade Allies to identify and implement the latest strategies to reduce energy costs and keep your facility running at peak performance. Energy-efficient lighting, heating and refrigeration equipment are just a few upgrades to help your commercial building or warehouse reduce costs related to operating and maintaining the facility.
Earn cash incentives
Delmarva Power offers energy saving solutions from a broad list of pre-qualified standard measures including incentives for lighting, HVAC, refrigeration and more. If you are considering an energy-saving project that is not included in the standard incentive program, you may be eligible for custom incentives.
Delmarva Power pays cash incentives for qualifying energy-efficient improvements, such as:
Additional incentive opportunities
- Operations & Maintenance Training
- Technical support and cash incentives are offered to owners and design teams for new construction, major renovation, and continuous energy improvement projects.
- Retro-Commissioning for existing buildings to help assess opportunities to optimize the energy efficiency of existing systems.
Businesses and institutions have access to technical and financial resources to improve lighting, upgrade heating, and controls systems and build high-performance buildings. Below is an example of a recently completed project at a local industrial facility. Delmarva Power supported the project with advice early in the process and cash incentives after the upgrades were completed, helping the customer save money, improve comfort and boost productivity.
